Simple tools-a compass, straight edge and pencil are all that are needed to mark out the spool sides. A ruler helps, but isn't required. med | big | huge |

A close up of my 2 radii length compass - 3.5' and 4'. med | big | huge |

This pic shows the first step in the construction of one of the 30 'Pringles' that it will take to make the entire project. med | big | huge |
After measuring the distance-46.5", the squre is used to draw a 90 degree line. med | big | huge |

Boards all cut. Time to start wedging the spool end into the jig. med | big | huge |

It fits tightly into the jig so the final pringles are all exactly the same. med | big | huge |

Boards are laid in place. 2x6"s for the two outer ends and 2x4"s for the 5 positions between. Overbuilt perhaps, but I want it climbable. med | big | huge |

The glue is what is going to make this strong. The screws that follow are just "permanant" clamps to keep the glue sqeezed together until hardened. med | big | huge |

The last of the screws is added to the first spool end. med | big | huge |
Glue is put on the ends of all the boards at the other end of the spool. med | big | huge |

The other spool end is placed in the jig. It needs to be manually fitted. Getting a little of that nasty glue on my fingers. med | big | huge |
The opposite spool end is held tightly keeping it all aligned. This spool end will move into place as the screws are tightened. med | big | huge |

As soon as all the steps above are complete, I lift it out of the jig and move it just a couple inches away to stay aligned while it drys. (I'm afraid to let it dry in the jig lest it get stuck and mess up the great jig.) med | big | huge |
Total time to compete: about 15 minutes. med | big | huge |
After a while (a couple hours if I have other things to do) I stack the pringle with the others. med | big | huge |
Now does it make sense why I call them pringles? med | big | huge |
Miscellaneous art in the way. This is my 7 year old on-going gooey paint brush tree. med | big | huge |
One more pringle. Now I have 6 - enough for the first full ring. med | big | huge |
