Adam's Logs / wizzard's plan

Adam lived in my camp (KSVERT Radio Station) this year and had brought a couple sets of logs prepared in a special way. The large set of 2 logs were about 3.5 feet in diameter and maybe 2 feet thick and well dried. Into the matching faces he had cut 3 'V' shaped about 3" wide and 2" deep at about 60 degrees from each other resembling an asterix (*).

One log was placed on the Man's burn platform with the asterix on the top surface. A handful of the hot coals from the Man fire from the previous night were placed at the center of the V-grooves. The second log was stacked on top with the asterix pointing downward toward the hot coals.

Imagine the scene, a hot fire is smashed between 2 heavy logs with 12 air channels and viewing ports aimed at the fire. (Only 6 bigger channels if the asterixes are aligned.) The result is like a burn barrel without the barrel. Between the logs a fire chamber grows and over time the logs collapse as the fire thins them out.

What also results is that people gather around a fire.

What I'd like to do this year is to have a burn platform of DG (decomosed granite like they use around the Man base) near the esplanade and host fires of from 1 to 5 pairs of Adam's Logs each night. To do this, I'm looking for people:
